Hydrotherapy is a term that indicates water-based tratment system, an element that has a series of chemical-physical properties, such as a heat transfer coefficient greater than air and a great capacity to absorb heat, which make it the most effective tool for applying thermal stimuli. The success of the therapy, however, is not necessarily due to the water itself but to the result that can be obtained by applying different stimuli to the human body: hydrotherapy exploits yhe benefits of water on the human body to cure particular disorders, favoring the reduction of inflammation and congestion, stimulation of blood circulation, reduction of muscle tension and the expulsion of toxins. Among the techniques used there are wraps, cold and hot baths, mud, clay or earth tratments and ice massage.
